'D' Department

'D' Department (Force Criminal Investigation Department) The Nigeria Police Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) is the highest investigating arm of the Nigeria Police. The Department is headed by DIG PETER GANA, mni.

 Its functions include investigation and prosecution of serious and complex criminal cases within and outside the country. The department also coordinates crime investigations/prosecution throughout the force. For effective and efficient administration , the NPF CID is divided into sections with most of them headed by Commissioner of Police.

The Sections are:

1.  Administration;

2. Ant-Fraud Section;

3. The Central Criminal Registry (CCR);

4. Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS);

5. Special Enquiry Bureau

6. X-Squad;

7. General Investigation;

8. Special Fraud Unit (SFU)

9. Legal Section;

10. Forensic Science;

11. Interpol;

12.  Homicide;

13. Anti-Human Trafficking Unit;

14. CIB/SIB Force CID Annex Kaduna.
