The Inspector-General of Police, Ag.IGP Ibrahim K. Idris, NPM, mni, on behalf of officers of the Nigeria Police Force heartily felicitates with Nigerians, especially Muslim faithfuls on the occasion of the 2016 Eid-el-fitri celebration coming up on 5th and 6th July, 2016 respectively.

 

IGP Idris said he was particularly thankful to Allah for His mercies during the period of the Ramadan, saying our prayers and supplications were met inspite of the numerous challenges that we faced as a nation, assuring the nation that the Nigeria Police Force will provide adequate security with robust and proactive patrols during and after the celebrations.

 

IGP Idris has also ordered all Zonal Headquarters and Command Commissioners of Police to ensure adequate security in their areas of responsibilities throughout the duration of the celebration, warning that officers should be deployed evenly to cover the highways, worship and recreation centres, government installations and all vulnerable points in order to give Nigerians feasible sense of safety and security as they celebrate the Eid-el-fitri and go about their lawful business.

 

IGP Ibrahim Idris said it is his belief that the Nigeria Police Force under his watch will be people-oriented and problem solving Police and that nobody should be afraid to give useful information to the Police as every information will be treated with the confidentiality it deserves.

 

He enjoined Nigerians to be law abiding at all times for the peace, progress and development of the country, reiterating that the cooperation of the public is very critical to the performance of the Police and administration of justice.
