The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Ibrahim Kpotun-Idris NPM, mni, has described the sudden demise of Ezonuwan Kutigi, Alhaji Hussaini Wuchin-Kutigi of Lavun LGA of Niger State in the early hours of Tuesday 14th March, 2017 at the age of 75 years as a great loss not only to Bida emirate, Niger state but to the nation at large. 2. The Inspector General of Police was deeply touched when he received the news of the demise of Ezonuwan Kutigi. According to the IGP who also hails from Kutigi, “late traditional ruler showed love to all of us and those that live in his domain, irrespective of their tribe, religious inclination and in spite of these he was a Righteous Leader who has the interest of his people at heart above every other thing”. 3. The IGP who is the Zarman Nupe emphasized that the deceased had contributed immensely to the socio economic development of Nigeria and will be ever remembered for all his good work. He stressed that throughout his life time which was very remarkable; the late monarch retained the humble and unassuming mien of a technocrat and as a leader, he gained the respect of all and sundry. He was a bridge builder, an amiable personality who is at home with his people. The vacuum created by his death would be difficult to fill in a very long time to come. 4. The IGP joins the good people of Kutigi and other well-meaning Nigerians to pray that the Almighty Allah grant the soul of late Wuchin-Kutigi eternal rest and the members of his family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
