THE PREMIERE OF POLICE TELEVISION SERIES TITLED “BEYOND YOUR SIGHT” COMING UP ON THE 7TH JUNE, 2016 AT THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE CENTRE, ABUJA

I welcome you all to this press briefing on the premiere of the first exclusive Nigeria police TV series titled “Beyond Your Sight”. The TV Series was conceptualised by IGP Solomon Arase, the Inspector General of Police in furtherance to his policing vision which is woven around bridging the gap between the Police and its public and connecting in the most sociable manner with broad spectrums of Nigerians.

2. Consequently, ‘Beyond Your Sight’ documents, serialises and disseminates landmark operational, intelligence, investigative and prosecutorial exploits of the Nigeria Police Force with the aim of showcasing the professional capacity and achievements of the Police over the years. The message, Ladies and Gentlemen is that though the Nigeria Police has had its fair share of institutional challenges, the Force under the leadership of IGP Arase has laid pathways that is engendering the evolution of a new Police Force, a Force that will not only take pride in itself, but one that will sing its song, change its narratives and give social meaning to policing.

3. In so doing, the Police TV Series aims at bringing to the fore the concerted efforts of the Nigeria Police Force at preventing and unravelling crime, while at the same time educate, sensitize and enlighten members of the public about their safety and security. It is the expectation of the Force leadership that in the long-term, the TV Series will aid the rebranding process of the Force, enhance the personal security of citizens, and galvanise citizens to their obligations within the national security space of our beloved country.

4. Thirteen episodes of the Police TV Series makes up the quarterly production have already been produced and we intend to commence the broadcast of the movies on different Television stations across the nation after the premiere. The series are produced and directed by multiple award winning movie producer, Lancelot Odua Imasuen and it featured prominent actors like Desmond Elliot and Segun Arinze among others. The Premiere is scheduled for Tuesday 7th June, 2016 by 8pm at International Conference Centre (ICC) Abuja. Green carpet starts by 6.30pm.
5. The Inspector General of Police invites friends of the Nigeria police Force and indeed all Nigerians to share the vision of the new Nigeria Police with the force leadership by supporting this initiative and remain our invaluable audience. It is also his expectation that corporate bodies and well-meaning individuals will support the sustenance of what promises to be an exceedingly captivating drama series by offering sponsorship deals. The benefits accruable to the sponsors are immense as sponsoring Companies and organizations will have the opportunity to advertise their products and services while airing the TV series. By so doing the Sponsors would also be contributing to the public safety and security drive of the Force leadership.
