PRESS RELEASE NIGERIA UNITE AGAINST TERROR GROUP VISITS IGP.


 

The Nigeria Unite Against Terror Group led by Dr. Joe Okei Odumakin on 5th August 2016 visited the Ag. Inspector General of Police Ibrahim K. Idris NPM, mni and his management team at the Police Force Headquarters Abuja.

 

In her remarks, Dr. Okei who is the convener of the Group and also the President of Women Arise congratulated the IGP on his appointment. She said she has been following the IGP’s agenda diligently and has seen his zeal and commitment to reposition the Nigeria Police Force despite the wrong perception about the Force. She stressed on the need for a working synergy and good relationship between Police and the Group especially in providing useful information to assist the Force for better service delivery to the general public. She further stated that the Nigeria Police Force is focused under the leadership of the present IGP.

 

In the same vein, the General Secretary of the Group, Prince Goodluck Obi stated that the Police have been a cardinal point in reducing crimes in the society. He appreciated the sacrificial roles played by the Police Force in the war against terrorism and expressed deep sympathy to the families of Officers and men that lost their lives during such battles.

 

The IGP in company of his management team thanked the Group for coming and expressed gratitude for the passion and humanitarian roles displayed by the Group. The IGP said Nigerians are peace loving people and all we need is to be more united for rapid development of the country.

 

The IGP underscored the determination of his management team to implement the international core values at policing with integrity and accountability. He further emphasized on the need for the public to appreciate the Police Force.  He promised to set up a working committee to interface with the Nigeria Unite Against Terror Group on how to improve the image and perception of the Force by the public.
