Arrest five Gang Members

Recover 1 AK47 Rifle, Ammunitions and Operational vehicles

 

The Inspector General of Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) relying on actionable intelligence provided by the Technical Intelligence Unit (TIU) of the Force swung into action which led to the arrest of five suspected kidnappers responsible for the kidnap of an Eighty (80) Year Old Chief in Abia State on 26/11/2017, and recovered the following:

ii.                  One (1) Lexus 300 SUV Jeep

iii.                One (1) Toyota Siena Bus

iv.                 24 Rounds of Ammunition

 

SUSPECTS

i.        Samuel Chikaodi aka Chiboy ‘m’ 29 - Second-in-Command and driver of operational vehicle.

ii.      Justice Iriah aka Mopol ‘m’ 23 - gunman who snatches victims.

iii.    Ikechukwu Igwebuike aka Anambra ‘m’ 22

iv.    Chikachi Ubani ‘m’ 30 - gunman in charge of detention camp.

v.      Chinenye Mark ‘m’ 45 - panel beater who hides operational vehicles.

 

2.         The Suspects confessed to the crime and individual roles played in the commission of the offence, they further confessed to have carried out several kidnap for ransom operations in Abia State and its environs. They will all be arraigned in Court upon completion of investigation. Meanwhile, effort is being intensified to arrest other members of the gang still at large with a view to bringing them to justice.
