Protocol,

The outgoing POWA President, Mrs Agharase Arase, Wives of the Deputy Inspector General of Police in absentia, Wives of the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Wives of Commissioners of Police, All members of National Executives, All members of POWA present, Distinguieshed Ladies and Gentlemen.

In the name of Allah, the most beneficient, the most merciful.

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you all to the successful completion of the tenure and handing over of officer by our mummy, MRS AGHARASE ARASE, the outgoing President of the Police Wives Association (POWA).

We are here today to thank our outgoing President whose tenure was marked by purposeful leadership, concern for the welfare of the women and Youths, all of which has contributed to enhance our status as one of the leading Association amongst our peer.

Mummy, your laudable empowerment projects, all achieved in the past year, has raised the bar in POWA’s service to the Nigeria Police families.

Like other past POWA Presidents, you have left an indelible mark in the history of our association.

I acknowledge your immense contributions and will endeavour to sustain the tempo. I will build on the solid foundation of my predecessor and work tirelessly to support our courageous husbands, officers of the Nigeria Police Force without whom, there will be no POWA.

I aim serve POWA by building bridges between families of officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force irrespective of Rank, Tribe or Religion.

As you are all aware, there is a lot to be done, we still have challenges in our barracks such as, Youth Unemployment, Anti-Social behaviour, Poor Youth conditions, Insurgency and Insecurity, non-payment of Widow’s allowances and inadequate schools to mention but a few.

I therefore charge all POWA members especially the Wives of the Deputy Inspector-Generals of Police, Assistant Inspector-Generals of Police and Wives of the Commissioners of Police; you are the leaders of this great association (POWA). Together we have to support our husbands by working for the success of POWA; we also have to ensure the peaceful co-existence of the Police families and our host communities.

Today, I stand before you, in all humility and attest that leadership is from Allah and He chooses whom He pleases. I therefore solicit for your support towards a successful and peaceful tenure.

Thank You all for your kind attention.
